Crocheting Basics A

What You Need:
-A hook
-Yarn

How To:

How to start a rectangular crocheted piece:

First start it.

-make a Slipknot and put it on your hook.

Second you increase length by adding more slipknots on to your first one.

-going under your yarn
-hook the yarn
-pull it through your previous knot
-repeat until you have a fair amount of knots

Third you increase height.

-Turn around
-put your hook into the second to last knot you made
-hook the yarn
-pull the yarn through
-now you have two knots on your hook, now go over the knot you just went through and hook the yarn again and pull that yarn through both knots
-repeat until you get to the end of the row

Forth increase height again.

-make an extra slipknot at the end of the row
-repeat third step

Repeat the fourth step until your piece is the size you want.
